I'm hot, I'm tired, and I stink.
Aug. 29th, 2010 09:52 pmHowever, I accomplished a ton of work this weekend, and I feel good about it (though exhausted).
Yesterday was an errand running day. I went to Owatonna and got some groceries, kitty foods, and one of those organizer thingies that are supposed to be to keep nails and other man-shit in. I used it to separate out a bunch of my doll shoes by color. I didn't do Barbie or Ken's shoes. Only the "kid" dolls like Kelly, Stacie, Skipper, and so on. I know I have tons more somewhere. I'm sure they will turn up eventually. I wish I had another one of those things so I could separate out the other shoes--I will probably actually need two--1 1/2 for Barbie and the other half for Ken. LOL.
On my way home, I stopped at my sister Joni's house to drop off a couple of Johnny West horses I had found in my frenzy of cleaning this summer. I got to see my nephew Matthew and a female friend who may or may not be his girl friend. :) If she is his girlfriend, she is a lucky, lucky girl, because they just don't come any sweeter, cuter, smarter, or more talented than my Matt.
Joni's little Papillion dog went crazy over me. I can't believe that dog remembers me all the time, I hardly ever see her.
My little Kaylee bug was happy to see me too. I feel so sad when I see her hooked up to that trac thing, but it's keeping her alive, so I guess it's okay. She tried so hard to coo at me--her little face turned bright red as she tried to talk, but of course all she could do was wheeze.
She has lived such a shitty life, yet she is always happy--always smiling--always glad to see you.
Joni gave me a sack of potatoes that she had just dug out of her garden--three red ones and two brown ones. She also gave me three ears of corn, a pepper, and a tomato, all from her garden. I ate the corn for lunch yesterday--it was delicious. I boiled up the potatoes and ate some of them tonight for supper. Part of the pepper I ate raw, and part of it I chopped up to add to the meatloaf I made today.
Today I got the laundry all washed, though there is still a load in the dryer in the basement that I just couldn't go down and get. My knees have had all they can take of the basement stairs for one day. I'll try to remember to get those clothes up tomorrow after school.
I also picked up the living and dining rooms and vaccuumed them. I dusted part of the living room because there were tons of cobwebs.
I also went through a basket of stuff in my downstairs "den." Mostly, it contained recipes that I have clipped and saved or typed up at school. I also found a bunch of articles on overcoming stress, meeting your goals, organizing your life, and other self-improvement topics. I organized the desk area in there a little bit--it still needs a lot of work, but I can save that for another day--that's something that can keep. Getting the dirty stuff clean and the cluttery stuff put away is much more significant to me.
For my school lunches for at least three days, I made some tuna salad with pickles, celery, and onion. I made meatloaf with onions and peppers, oatmeal, and eggs. I ate some for supper and it was delicious. I gave half of the meatloaf to DeAnn. She came over to pick it up, and bless her heart, she threw my big garbage sack into the trash can outside, put my five gallon bottled water container onto the dispenser, and hauled my plastic crate of used kitty litter to the porch where her dear hubby will pick it up and add it to Mount Poo later.
I forgot to mention that I did a ton of dishes and washed up the cat water fountain. Unfortunately, I put it together wrong and water leaked out of it all over the floor. what a freaking mess. I took it apart and put it back together again. Next time, I have to pay attention to how it is when I take it apart. I should wash that thing once a week, but it is often two weeks or more before I get it done. It is such a pain in the ass.
I swept up the area near the litter boxes as well as cleaned them out. I wanted to drag them out of their little cubby and scrub the floor too, but I just didn't have enough energy left after all my other labors.
Everything looks so much better than it did on Friday, at least in the downstairs. Upstairs, the bathroom is disgusting. I had planned to get that done this weekend, but it did not happen. I'm hoping that I can come home from school with a tiny bit of energy so I can do a little bit tomorrow night. The kitchen is only partially swept and needs to be scrubbed. I also need to get out my cobweb brusher-downer as there is an enormous spider who has taken up residence in the corner of my kitchen, right above the door to the dining room. I wouldn't mind if he would eat the damned mosquitoes and fruit flies that are multiplying like rabbits around here--or the giant flies that have invaded from somewhere. You'd think I had a mouldering corpse in my basement by the number of huge flies I have in here.
Thank goodness the kitties find them a great snack and will chase and kill and devour them.
When I sat down to mess with my computer a bit before bed, I made myself a diet rootbeer float. It was very refreshing. Stewart got on the table and demanded a taste. He slurped it right down too. Then Tiggsy wanted some, but she only gave it a couple of licks and was done with it. No sign of my Baby Peach. She is probably full of flies. She is my boldest and most effective hunter.
My pill caddy is filled up for the week. I have to do the upstairs one when I get up there. I only have three pills to put in each day of that one, so it doesn't take as much time as the one down here--where I have thirteen pills and vitamins for the morning and seven at night. Yuck.
I think that is all that is on my mind for now.
One of the tomatoes in my pots on the front steps is nearly ripe. I can't wait to pick him, slice him, and eat him on toast. YYUUUUUMMMMMM.
Next summer I want to do pots of green beans and possibly summer squash or zucchini.
Well, I need to head upstairs and get a bath. I feel dirty and sticky and stinky. Can't go to school in the morning like that!
