Today's whirlwind events.
Jun. 14th, 2011 06:03 pmI got up early and had a nice long soak in a hot bathtub.
It was too early to go to the clinic for my blood tests, so I puttered around the house a bit. I ended up losing track of time and got to my appointment ten minutes late. It didn't matter, though. The waiting room only had three other people in it the whole time I was there.
I only had to wait about fifteen minutes. For the first time, I didn't bring anything in with me--no book, no sewing, not a thing. I just sat in the chair and stared at the floor. I don't think I even had any thoughts flitting through my head. LOL.
After my blood was sucked, I went to Daniels, the local restaurant in Kasson. I had my usual there, the "Rancher's Breakfast." It consists of two eggs (I get mine over easy), 3 slices of bacon, two pieces of toast (I always get rye), and hash browns. I am not a real fan of hash browns unless they are really really crisp. These were not.
While I waited for my food, I sorted through my mail and paid most of my bills. It wasn't nearly as bad as I feared it would be. It turns out that I over paid my Target bill and have a $70+ credit. Woot. Now if I can just get Capitol One paid off and out of my life. I only owe them a little over $1,000. I sent them $150, which is much more than my minimal payment. With my next check, I hope to pay even more.
Kasson has a drive through mail box, so I dumped my bills in there. I had just enough stamps to mail them all. I even stopped at city hall in West Concord and paid my way past due water bill. That should keep them happy for a while.
Oh, in Kasson, I got some raspberry Bavarian cream pie to take home with me. I had a couple of bites when I got home, then went upstairs to pee and mess with my computer. My cats needed cuddling, so I snuggled with them for a while--then we all fell asleep. When I woke up and disentangled myself from the pile of cats, I sort of wandered aimlessly around the upstairs, unsure of what I should do.
I went downstairs and watched a show on the history channel that was about ancient explorers and navigators. It was quite fascinating. Peaches decided to snuggle into the curve between my hip and my waist. And she stayed for a very long time, purring her little heart out.
At about 5, I made myself a couple of hotdogs. I had purchased some pickle relish just to have with the hotdogs. It was good. I get a craving for pickle relish with hotdogs once in a blue moon. Then I had a few more bites of the pie. It was so good! It's too good to eat it all in one sitting. So I have enough left for a treat tomorrow too.
The wind blew like crazy all day--and while I was sitting in the bathroom watching the grapevine that has overdrapped my house whipping around, the wind just stopped. It was weird. After a few minutes it started up again and now it is very dreary looking and it's raining. There was a little bit of rumbling thunder, but it sounded distant and not very ominous.
