I do drink bottle water. Fiji. I tried every brand of bottled water in the store and that is the one I like the best. I do not like drinking water but I know I should, so the only way I can make myself drink it is to drink the one I like the best. If it's tap (our local water is awful) I just won't drink it.
I also have an air conditioner in my bedroom that I will use when it's really hot, but it is a new energy star rated one and I use a ceiling fan to improve the efficiency. Luckily there aren't that many days in the year I need it. And....I have photovoltaic panels on the roof that zero out my energy use so I don't feel that badly.
I still do bad things, but I think the number of good things I do outnumber the average person so while I still have a carbon footprint it's not as big as some other people. It's also not as small as other people. Being an American, no matter what I do, I waste more than in other countries. But I am trying.
A few things.
