Already, all my days have begun to run together since the school year ended.  I don't want to fall into a morass of mindless (non) existance, so I am going to try to write about the events of my mundane life every day.  I need to catch up as much as I can with what has happened since the end of the school year.  I lived the last 30+ years for my job.  Now I have to spend what is left of my life living for my own dreams.

I don't want to let any of it slip away.

On Saturday, May 28, I was still at my mom's house.  She discovered she did not have enough blood pressure pills to get her through the weekend.  Her prescription was expired, but she had a doctor's appointment for June 5.  She called Shopko, and I drove her to Albert Lea.  We stopped and had breakfast at Perkins first.  My new favorite thing at Perkins is the "build your own" omlette.  I like  the mushroom, asparagus, and cheese omlette with a side of link sausages.  Yum.

The rest of the day, I dozed in "my" recliner and sewed doll clothes.  I also unpacked and organized the stuff I had brought home from school with me.  I put away what I could.

I don't remember whether I stayed over night again Sunday or not.  It all runs together in my head.  I know that when I got home again, I cleared off all my bookshelves and packed the books I am keeping in the blue Walmart bags.  They hold just enough books for me to manage.  Anything bigger would be too heavy.  I also got my desk cleared off.  I pushed some stuff down to the end of the hallway.  I carried some of it down the stairs, but hauling stuff down steps is difficult for me.  (It would be worse hauling them UP steps.)

On Wednesday, June 1, Jim and DeAnn came to my house with their trailer and loaded up as many as my bookshelves as would fit, my two small gray file cabinets (where I have all my doll clothes patterns), all the bags of books I had packed, and my desk.  When we got to mom's, they unloaded the trailer and hauled everything downstairs.  While they were hauling, I put the bookshelves where  they needed to go.  I got a lot of books put on shelves while they were dragging the rest of the stuff down.  I went  back to West Concord with them.  We stopped in Blooming Prairie for supper/lunch at DQ.  Then we took Swayze to the park.  While they played on the playground, I played Angry Birds on DeAnn's new Ipad.  I'd never played the game before.  It is pretty mindless, but kinda fun too.

I came back to mom's on Thursday late in the afternoon to put the rest of my stuff in order.  I got all the books put on shelves and in good order.  I discovered I had two copies of Sword of Shanarra and two copies of a book by Tony Hillerman.  Also, I had two sets of the Chronicles of Narnia.   I gave the Sword of Shanarra to Jack as his copy had been lost.  I gave the set of Chronicles to Diane Butler for her kids.  The Voyage of the Dawn Treader was missing, but I found it today.  My mom can give it to her at church.

I spent a little time sewing--it didn't seem like much time.  Mostly, I worked in my room.

I went home yesterday morning.  I was very tired and did not get too much done on Saturday.  I snuggled a lot with my kitties because I missed them very much.

In the afternoon, I went to see the new Pirates of the Carribean movie, which was good, but they had too much "forced" action at the very beginning.  It was so obvious that it was just there for the "thrill" effect.  Johnny Depp was adorable as was Keith Richards as his father, even  though his appearance was very brief.  The plot was thin, especially in the beginning, but it was better as it went on.

Penelope  Cruz was a cutie as a pirate but I didn't really feel the chemistry between her and Johnny Depp.  She seemed more like a little sister than a lover.  The girl who played the mermaid was adorable.  Blackbeard was a turd.  But we all knew that going in, didn't we?

I went to Ingrid and Jim's for supper.  Jim made chicken on the grill.  We also had steamed zucchini and tomatoes and baked potatoes.  Everything was good.  I played with Missy, their little Papillion.  She is a bundle of fun and energy.  She loves her auntie Cheryl.

I packed and sorted for a while when I got home Saturday night, but I was very worn out and went to bed with my kitties early.  today I worked all day, mostly cleaning and packing.  I did dishes and added to the big white garbage bag of stuff I am putting aside for Ingrid.  It is all my plastic storage containers for left overs.  Ingrid gives food to lots of people, so she will make good use of them.

I didn't get to mom's tonight until after 9 pm and I only brought my big suitcase and my little suitcase.  I had a laundry basked, a bag of books, and a tote packed also, but I just didn't have the will or the strength to load them in my car or to unload them once I got to mom's.

I am sleeping down in my "new" bedroom, my underground lair as it were, but the bed is so fucking hard that I cannot get comfortable.  I woke up to pee, and thought about this stuff and decided I might as well fire up the computer and get it taken care of.  Now I am up to date and can continue with my entries as they happen.

Are you moving in with your Mom?

Is this our fate? That once we retire, we move back in with our parents?

it seems to be my fate, anyhow...I'm trying to have an at least not completely bleak and shitty outlook on it.
