My knees have been hurting so much the last few days. I even took one of my codeine pain pills the other day, but i don't like to take them unless I am absolutely about to scream in agony. I don't like drugs. Even the prescription ones.
Sometimes, I really feel like amputating my own legs above the knee...just to end this constant pain.
I filled my pill caddies this morning before I did anything else. I called in three of my prescriptions for refills. I will pick them up on Wednesday when I pass through on my way to see my therapist.
Mom's cousins were going to stop in today, and she asked if I would bake something, so I made Grandma Harpel's oatmeal bars. Those are always good.
Grandma Harpel’s Oatmeal Bars
1 cup white sugar
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup butter
½ cup Crisco
2 eggs
1 cup oatmeal
2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup flour
Walnuts
Bake at 350°.
Kim called this morning to see if I would like to go see a movie, and of course, I am always up for a movie. We saw REEL STEEL, which was good. Hugh Jackman is always worth watching. And I pretty much like anything with a robot in it. LOL.
After the movie, Kim and I got ice cream from Dairy Queen and went to Mineral Springs park to eat it and talk for a while. We laughed our heads off, but I can't remember what we were laughing about now.
I left a bunch of jars there for Joni to pick up. She and Jeff want to make some applesauce. Their apples are just incredible this year. If I were them, I'd make apple butter which is the most bomb thing in the universe.
I may just attempt it myself if I can get enough apples from them.
When I got home, I went to Jack and Kari's house as Jack made his famous enchiladas. They were delicious. I tried to cuddle Mojo, their orange kitten, but he was having NONE of that. Dang cat. He is so very fuzzy and cuddly looking--I just itch to hold him and scritch his little ears....sigh.
Mom and I came home by 8 pm. They were putting up Halloween decorations, and it is a school night.
When we got home, we watched a movie on Lifetie. It was okay--a romantic comedy. Not usually my cup f tea, but this one was pretty good. I liked that the woman in the story was pretty chunky and still considered very sexy and beautiful.
I worked on a pair of the pajama pants. I only have one pair left, but I cannot go any further until I find the waist band piece or cut out a new one.
I have a medium sized tote full of doll clothes I have cut out and never sewn. I'm going to work my way through them while I am watching TV.
My other big project is organizing and typing up all the random recipes I have gathered during my life and get them all put into proper binders.
And of course, I need to begin doing my daily writing again. I have two story ideas drifting around in my head. And of course I have dozens of old stories that I started and never finished. I would really like to write ONE COMPLETE STORY....I really want to do the Nano this year too. Being unemployed will at least make it possible for me to do that.
I am beat and it is time for me to go to sleep. A rather boiring entry today, but it was a rather boring day, so what can I do?

How long?
Date: 2011-10-11 12:12 am (UTC)Recipes are good. I've got tons typed or downloaded and saved but not printed out. I need to do that. Also update the recipes on the website.
Have you considered knee replacement? Deadbeat's had it done three times now. My Mom needs it but is putting it off as long as possible but eventually she'll have to. She's not close to needing it as much as you do. They have made huge strides in knee replacement. But you need to do it BEFORE you have no insurance. Otherwise you'll be waiting until Medicare and it will be harder to get it approved and you'll be paying who knows what out of pocket. They only cover the hospital ROOM.
