My knees, arms, and shoulders ache like mad tonight. I have spent the entire day cleaning.
I got up at about 8:15 and stumbled around a while before eating left over pizza for breakfast.
I started off by doing laundry--I had quite a bunch piled up. Then I attacked the bathroom. I scrubbed the toilet, inside and out. Somehow, someone managed to shoot their feces into the narrow area between the toilet seat and the seat cover. It was hard as concrete and almost impossible to get at. Yes, I know, that is very gross and disgusting information...you may not want to read about it--but poor me! I actually had to clean it!
First I hosed it down with chlorox Clean Up spray and let it sit for a while. Then I folded a paper towel and stuck the edge into the crevice and rubbed it back and forth. Man, disgusting is not a strong enough word! I got the bulk of it dealt with that way, but there was still more that would not come that way. So, I got a handful of q-tips, sprayed it down again and worked at it an inch at a time until I got pretty much all of it out.
No wonder the bathroom did not smell fresh!
I went through a half a roll of paper towel on that toilet!
After that, I cleaned the sink and everything on it.
Between all this enormous fun, I was doing laundry.
After I finished the sink, I took all the towels out of the towel drawers and sorted through them. I got rid of about half of them. I sacked them up in a big black garbage bag, and this afternoon I drove out to the gas station and threw them in the green box. I did not go through my closet, but I have plenty of time for that.
I did a ton of sorting and packing up doll furniture to store down here. I put a long flat tote on top of the towel dresser and the medium sized square tote with handles on top of that. In the bottom one was doll furniture and in the top one was all the socks I have bought specifically to make into doll sweaters.
I dragged out the little rocking chair and put it by the fireplace in the family room. It was a hell of a struggle to get that tall plastic organizer with the drawers from the porch to the bedroom--the wheels were no longer on it, and it comes to pieces when you try to carry it. I cursed a lot, but I got it down here and put it in the little alcove where the rocking chair had sat.
Immediately, i started filling the drawers with doll accessories. I have a big drawer for kitchen supplies--food, dishes, cups, glasses, candle sticks, etc. I have another large drawer that is strictly shoes. I have TONS of barbie doll shoes. I used to buy them by the zip lock bag full at garage sales. Garage sales are wonderful places to get cool things to use with dolls.
Another thing I keep coming across are tons of outfits I have cut out but not sewn together. Once I get the rest of this crap dealt with I am going to spend an hour or two sewing every day till I get caught up. I need to get some totes to put all my doll clothes in too. I have no idea where I will keep those.
I will find a place however.
I brought in the motorcycle the kids from Triton gave me about ten years ago and put it on top of my headboard. It looks very cute there still in the box. I put my toy monkey on top of the TV where he can watch over everything. I will have to give him a little pal up there too.
There is a box of books in the family room that I need to bring in tomorrow and put on shelves. There is very little shelf space remaining, but I do have a little.
I still have a significant amount of stuff on my desk that needs going through and being "homed."
I have a whole plastic shoe box-sized tote that is full of nekkid barbie dolls that need to be dressed and either packed up or placed somewhere.
I have a load of clothes in the dryer needing to be folded and a bedspread in the washer that needs to be dried. I have another bedspread, three blankets, and the bathroom rugs which need to be washed as well.
I also want to clean the rest of the stuff off the bed and remake it with fresh sheets tomorrow. I have been sleeping on about 1/3 of the bed while the rest of it is filled with clutter of all kinds.
While mom is at Bible study, I hope to go up to the porch and haul down a couple more flat totes and some of the bags of barbie accessories that I filled up the last time I spent the day in there working.
There are still a few dolls in there too. My Friend Jenny is one of them, as is my bride doll and the Saucy Walker doll my sister gave me because she thought it was "creepy." I don't find her creepy. I think she is cute.
I found my high school diploma today. No sign of my college diploma yet, and the two of them were together in my old house. Who knows what happens to mess stuff up.
Mom got home from Tammy's at around 4:30. Caleb came in to get the back of stuff I had been setting aside for them...a couple of necklaces for Cora, a light saber in barbie scale for Caleb, and a bunch of plastic caps and soda tabs for them to bring to school when they go back
Apparently the kids had a great time on the farm playing with all Tammy's animals.
When I got done scrubbing the bathroom floor (which is the reason every part of my body aches), Mom and I went to Blooming to the Dairy Queen for supper. We both got the four-piece chicken strip basket with onion rings. Mom had a chocolate malt and I had my traditional banana malt. When we got home, we watched an hour of America's Got Talent (which my mom loves). I just can't get worked up for reality shows. This one is one of the least offensive to me. Others, like Kate Plus 8 and The Bachelor/Bachelorette just make me want to vomit until organs come out my mouth.
At 9 pm I came downstairs. I had enough reality TV and I was so damned tired, I just wanted to lie on my bed and sleep. And I wanted to cuddle my kitties too.
