This doll is to DIE for. I'd love to add her to my Tonner family collection as the sweet old grandmother. You never ever see a really excellent old person doll.

The only bad thing is that she costs nearly $3,000. Ouch.

This is the right side of the "Princess Room." In this corner is the bed which is intended for a full-sized Barbie It's made from a cut-down box from Barnes and Noble. The box was all held together and completely covered by white duct tape. Then, I put a layer of fuscia pink felt On each side and stitched some wide eyelet lace around the edges. I tied tiny ribbons to the corners for a little pizzazz.

The mattress is made of some gross looking cushion-stuff that Ellie brought over. That was covered with pale pink felt and then by the pretty, dainty pink fabric as a bottom sheet. The comforter is that same fabric with an accent of the same eyelet lace at the head of the comforter. Translucent pale pink ribbons decorate that. The pink pillow cases match the sheets. And they also have an accent of the translucent pale pink ribbon on the edges of the cases.

Above the head of the bed is a castle made of flat wood. I got that at Hobby Lobby--it was about 67 cents. The little white flowers with the "diamond" in the center are from the scrapbooking section--they came in a huge envelope, so I used them liberally in my design.

The rose/sunflower/blueberry border at the top of the room is also from the scrapbooking aisle. I think it makes the room look more "finished" and hides any rough edge where the pink scrapbook paper "wallpaper" meet. on the side wall, is a crown, also from the Hobby Lobby.

The table and chairs I'll describe in another picture.

Another view of basically the same angle.

This is the left side of the room. You can see here that we put in a white duct tape "mop board" because the "wallpaper" didn't totally cover the "wall."

The crown matches the one on the opposite wall. Behind the table is a sparkly "Princess" sign.

The table base was a square "trinket box" from Hobby lobby. The top was a circular piece of wood in the wood craft section. I put a piece of dusty-rose looking on top of the wood then put a piece of trim from the scrap booking section around the edge with was kind of rough. The bottom of the box is covered with a darker pink felt. The box cover has another piece of scrapbooking trim glued around it to keep the table from being overwhelmed by the adorable stools we made.

This is a close up view of the table top. I thought it looked very blah, so I carefully cut apart four sections of floral scrapbook trim and made them into placemats on the table. You can see the pattern in the "wallpaper" behind the table very clearly here.

The vase I had made for the crystal flowers just wasn't working for me, so I looked around Hobby Lobby for something that would work as a vase. I found this place card holder, but decided it was too expensive at $1.67. However, my dear sister Kim, snatched it up and bought it for me.

I bent the flowers wires around the little thing that would have held the name tag, set it in the middle of the table and swooned at how cute it was.

This is a really really good view of the left side of the room. The table and the puffy stools look so adorable!

You get a good look at the trim around the edge of the table. Underneath is the felt making it look a bit nicer.

You also get a nice look at the small bead feet on the bottom of the table and stools.

A nice shot of the whole room. I wish I could have had a slightly bigger box to make this room just a little bit bigger. It would have been nice to do a wardrobe and a bedside table or dresser.

Of course, I am always fond of bookshelfs in a room too.

Closer up of the bedding. It really looks fresh and pretty. The room was a long way from being done when the girls had to leave to babysit for the pastor and someone else in the parsonage.

They left at about 5:20 pm. I stopped working on the room at about 10:30 pm. Then I worked on it a little more this morning.

Just another view--this one seems sharper. I just love the way the little stools turned out--they really look like something a high school or college age girl would want in her room for when she and her friends got together to eat pizza, do homework, or play board games.

Just another slightly different view. I sent pictures via text to my cousin's wife so she could show them how cute it was. Apparently little Hailey thought it was so awesome that she asked Cynthia to call me and tell me about it as she was too shy to tell me herself.

That was a nice feeling.

Here's the centerpiece for the table.

Last but not least--here is a close up of the little stool. It's a round trinket box. The bottom is covered with darker pink felt. The seat is a white fleece circle with a little puff of fiberfill underneath to make it more comfy for Barbie's tender backside.

The trim was on sale half price at Hobby Lobby. I love the way these look.

KITTY PICTURE!

That's Stewie to the left and Peaches to the right.

I was gone most of the day today--when I got home, I did a little work on the doll room. I kept hearing male voices, and I figured mom had the tv on upstairs.

Well, when I came into my room, all three of them were lying on their pillow watching Stanley Cup Hockey.

How did they do it?

The little bastards have to hit three buttons to get the television to turn on.

Hockey. Really?

Hockey?

I thought they had more class than that.
